Spirit At Work Day 89
The Holy Spirit endows certain people with gifts to craft fine goods and work precious stones to his glory. "Then the Lord said to Moses, 'See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship.'"1 Louis Berkof says of this passage "the Holy Spirit inspires and qualifies human beings for their official tasks, for work in science and art."
The Holy Spirit reunited a Christian's body and soul. In the Christian, the Spirit gradually kills the sin tendency. He reveals truths about God to us. He is at work in us through the Word of God. The same heresies prevalent today in modern sects were present in the Ebionites and other early Church splits. I am greatly encouraged to know that the truth of the Gospel has survived through the ages whilst other heresies have died although some have been reborn in different modern day sects and heresies within the church. "We beseech thee, leave us not comfortless; but send to us thy Holy Ghost to comfort us..."2
