Holy Spirit Lord Day 60
The Holy Spirit Lord indwells individuals whom God uses for his service. Joshua for example had the Holy Spirit of God before he was commissioned for the Lord's service. "Joshua, the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit..."1 Othniel, Caleb's younger brother, is given the Holy Spirit in order to judge Israel. "The spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel."2 As Sampson grew so the Holy Spirit Lord stirred within him. "And the spirit of the Lord began to stir him in Mahanehdan..."3
Saul Prophecies
The Holy Spirit Lord is also removed from those who are disobedient to God. "Now the spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord tormented him."4 Once the Holy One leaves Saul, an evil spirit from the Lord enters him. Although prophecy is a phenomenon from very early times, Moses is the great prophet who is indwelt by the Holy Spirit Lord.5
