Form of Jesus Christ Day 53
The Apostles realized the true significance of Jesus' life. Paul writes "... Jesus Christ, who though he was in the form of God; did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men."1 Jesus leaves the glory of the angels and his Father's presence to come to earth as a tiny helpless baby.
As if to emphasize this point, Paul adds "... being found in human form."2 Jesus had another form as God but still became a man child. Jesus Christ therefore deserves our praise and worship. No less a person than the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte once said, "If the philosopher Socrates would enter the room, we would rise and do him honor. But if Jesus Christ would come into the room, we should fall down on our knees and worship him." The Holy Spirit in our hearts brings us to our Father as sons and heirs. Paul writes to his Christian friends in Galatia "And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, 'Abba! Father!'"3
