Everything Under Christ

Jesus face carvingSaint Paul writes to the Corinthian church in 1 Corinthians 15.24-25 about Jesus heavenly reign. He explains, "Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For he 'has put everything under his feet.'" [Psalm 8.6] When Paul says "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.✞

To Know God

Jesus' face on Shroud of TurinTo know Jesus is to know God, the Heavenly Father. John 8.19 reads, "Then they asked him, 'Where is your father?' 'You do not know me or my Father,' Jesus replied. 'If you knew me, you would know my Father also.'" Again in John 14.7b Jesus said to his disciples, "From now on, you do know him and have seen him." To see Jesus is to see God. Jesus explains in John 12.45, "The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me."
