Come Christ Invitation (Revelation 22.17)

"The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!' And let the one who hears say, 'Come!' Let the one who is thirsty come and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life." (Revelation 22.17)✞

Deepest Spiritual Needs

The Spirit and BrideThe ending of the letters to the seven churches in Revelation 2.7 is normally an invitation to hear what the Spirit is saying. Now, the speaker to the seven churches is the risen Christ. The spirit and the bride issue an invitation to "Come to Christ" probably meaning that this church join in the invitation to accept all that the Holy Spirit and the Bride have to offer. They say, "Let him that hears say, 'Come!'" They symbolize the great truth that every Christian is to be a missionary. He who has been found by Christ must find others for Christ too.✞

Isaiah's Great Invitation!

Invitation CardThe "invitation to come" issued to all thirsty souls so that their deepest spiritual needs may be satisfied reminds us of Isaiah's great invitation in Isaiah 55.1, "Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost." Jesus himself adds in John 6.35, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."
