"To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children." (Revelation 21.6b-7)✞

Without Cost

WaterThe Water of Life was abundant and free and refreshing. The living water spring contained all God's gifts at the disposal of human beings. The splendor of God was available to satisfy the thirst of longing hearts. Revelation 21.6-7 confirmed the words of Jesus,"To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life." The previous verse with the words of Jesus, "It is done" told of the "end" in Greek "telos," This did not simply mean "end in time" but the "goal of time." John of Patmos was saying here that all life began in God and the goal of all life was to receive "God's water of life." Jesus himself spoke about "the water of life" in what is sometimes refered to as the "Water of Life Discourse" of John 4.10-16 with the Woman of Samaria at the well. Saint Paul expressed the same truth when he said in Romans 11.36a, "for from him and through him and for him are all things." He also wrote in Ephesians 4.6 of "one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." It would be impossible to say anything more magnificent about God. At first sight, it might seem to remove God to a great distance saying, "God is the Beginning and the End" but what comes next deals with believers and unbelievers.✞
