"But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, God's mystery will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets." (Revelation 10.7)✞

Purpose of Human History

The AntiChristWhen the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, we were told that "God's mystery will be accomplished." The whole purpose of God in human history was being revealed. Much in life is difficult to understand and wickedness seems to hold sway. But, as John of Patmos understood it, there is going to be a final show down. God and the Antichrist, a figure of concentrated evil, will face each other. The final and total victory will be won, questions will be answered, wrongs will be righted and great mysteries solved. Beyond all the strangeness of the word pictures stood the truth that history was moving towards the inevitable triumph of God and that, though evil may have flourished for a while, it cannot in the end triumph. God's mystery will then be revealed.✞

What Tomorrow Holds

Road to Destiny in LifeSome people would love to know what tomorrow holds for them. They think that if they knew their future, they might feel better about their present circumstances. Maybe they believe they are destined or predetermined to a certain course of events, to inherit a fortune or marry a beautiful wife or handsome husband. They imagine that there is a crack in heaven and the all-knowing God is somehow leaking out information. Wiser people understand however that these things will only be unveiled when God chooses to reveal them. I do not believe we would be any happier for knowing our future, but quite the opposite.
