Blessed Revelation 16

"He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw - that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near." (Revelation 1.2,3)

I'm BlessedThe word "Blessed," indicates that this is the first of seven "beatitude like" or "be happy attitude" sayings in the blessed Revelation. They are reminiscent of Jesus' sermon on the Mount of Olives. "Bless the Lord, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless his holy name."7 Blessed is he or she for

  1. "Reading, hearing and obeying" the Word of God.
  2. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord."1
  3. "Blessed is the watchful pilgrim who is awake, keeping his garments."2
  4. "Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb."3
  5. "Blessed is he or she who shares in the first resurrection."4
  6. "Blessed is the wise person who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book."5
  7. "Blessed are those who do his commandments, who hear and obey."6
