Jesus Christ Priest (5.10)

"You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth."(Revelation 5.10)

Priest who Goes into the Holy Place Jesus Christ priest made us "priests." In the ancient world, the priest alone had the right of approach to God. When an ordinary Jew entered the Temple, he could make his way through the Court of the Gentiles, through the Court of the Women, into the Court of the Israelites, but he could not go into the Court of the Priests. It was thus far and no farther. But the Jesus Christ priest opened the way for all of us to God. Every Christian becomes a priest in the sense that they have the right of access to God.

Praise God His people shall "reign" upon the earth. This is not political triumph or material lordship. It is the secret of victorious living under any circumstances. "In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." ¹ In the Jesus Christ Priest, there is victory over self, victory over circumstance and victory over sin. When we think of what the death and life of Jesus Christ have done for us, it is no wonder that the living creatures and the elders burst into praise of Jesus.
