Jesus faceThe Early Church had to begin its crusade right where they were and to teach other disciples, according to Luke 24.47 "the message about repentance and forgiveness of sins must be preached to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem." Jesus commanded his army to keep on the move and to seek to teach other disciples everywhere they went. In Matthew 28.18-20 Jesus also commanded, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you."

Train to Teach

The soldier was ordered to teach other disciples and train others to be teachers. Saint Paul introduced this theme in 2 Timothy 2.2 to his disciple Timothy, "Take the teachings that you heard me proclaim in the presence of many witnesses, and entrust them to reliable people, who will be able to teach others also."
