Christ's Holy Body 27
Christ's holy body flies in the face of modern society. It urges,
- "Above all else, adore Jesus, the Lord your God"
- "Be friends with everyone even your former enemies,"
- "Live life in moderation and consider others first"
- "Give generously to the needy,"
- "Be forgiving, long suffering and kind."
- "Get your moral and ethical standards from the Bible"
- "Live celibate lives until you are married."
- "Be true to your spouse till you die."
- "Keep Sunday as a holy day."
The Body of Christ is to be wholly free from the selfish attitudes of our promiscuous society. Every Christian should remain celibate and holy in body until he or she marries a person of the opposite sex. The God fearing man or woman obeys the Word of God. We are commanded in God's Word, "Be holy, because I, the Lord your God, am holy."1
